Please check the permission event on COMPASS for the details of the day.
This was a great day in 2022 by all reports! (I was home with COVID and missed it)
Children will travel by bus across the valley depending on the stage they are in.
In other news!
We nearly have a second Kinder classroom ready... turf is going down today and now we water!

Thriving Friendships Parent Evening
On Thursday evening we welcomed parents to St James for our Thriving Friendships Parent Evening, led by our school counsellor, Laura Hamilton.
This session is part of the unique continuum of mental health programs offered at St James through the PDH curriculum, supporting students in building resilience and fostering positive, lasting friendships. The evening was very well received by those in attendance and provided valuable insights into how parents can best support their children in navigating friendships at school.
We thank Laura for her engaging and practical presentation and our parents for their involvement in this important initiative.
Please see below a list of resources available to assist parents in this space.

Stage 1 News
English
This week Stage 1 have been putting together some amazing stories which focus on dialogue, persuasive language, and illustrations. Our focus text is ‘Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!’ by Mo Willems, which uses metafiction to engage the reader. The students have been using their imaginations and great writing skills to create their own version of what the Pigeon is not allowed to do, and what persuasive arguments he will use to try and convince us (the reader) to let him do the forbidden task.
Religion
We had so much fun on Wednesday when Father Roland came to visit Stage One. We are learning about the Parables of the Kingdom - The Yeast, Hidden Treasure and Precious Pearl. Ask us to explain to you some of the other bible stories we have been learning - Moses and the Burning Bush & Joseph the Dreamer.
Dance
Last week in dance our lesson was based on the theme of Superheros. We focused on dynamics and space by looking at how we move and where we move. After trying out a variety of super hero dance moves we split into groups and each choreographed a dance using super hero moves. Our challenge was to finish our dance in a group super hero pose. Check it out!
